The Wilderness Society
The Wilderness Society (TWS) is Australia's largest national, community-based, conservation organisation working solely for the protection of Australia's wilderness and other high conservation value areas; and through this our unique e cosystems, plants and animals. TWS is politically unaligned, but uses the political process to maximise wise conservation decisions. TWS's ethos is based on a philosophy of non-violence and consensus decision-making.

The Greens
The Greens evolved out of people's need to be represented at a political level. People needed a voice for environmental protection, social justice, sensible resource manangement and a commitment to the future. The traditional two party system did not satisfy these all-impotant and crucial needs so, through the motivation of ordinary, and sincere people, The Greens evolved.

Timber Workers for Forests
Many people most angry at the current forest practices in Tasmania are timberworkers themselves! A group of sawmillers, wooden boat builders, builders, contractors and craftspeople recently banded together to form Timber Workers for Forests. This group has been highly influential and, importantly, has proposed credible alternatives to the high volume, low value added industrial forestry model favoured by big industry and governments.
